The Junior Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems in a power plant environment. This includes assisting in preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. The role is hands-on and intended for early-career professionals with foundational experience in plant mechanical systems.
Maintenance Support
Assist in executing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, turbines, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
Follow daily work instructions and ensure job completion as per standard procedures.
Team Coordination
Support senior technicians and supervisors in planning and executing maintenance tasks.
Coordinate with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams during shutdowns and equipment handovers.
Inspection and Monitoring
Conduct routine checks on mechanical systems for wear, leaks, or abnormal conditions.
Report observations and raise maintenance requests as needed.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, maintenance records, and equipment condition reports.
Use CMMS to close work orders and document findings under guidance.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and PPE usage in all plant areas.
Participate in safety drills and toolbox talks, and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI (Industrial Training Institute) in Mechanical Trade
Experience: 1โ3 years in power plants, utilities, or industrial mechanical maintenance
Certifications (Preferred): Basic safety training, lockout/tagout procedures, working at heights
Basic understanding of rotating and static mechanical equipment
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals
Good communication skills and willingness to learn
Familiarity with maintenance tools, lifting and rigging techniques, and alignment methods
Knowledge of basic health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
Field-based role in a high-temperature, high-noise environment
Requires wearing PPE and working in confined spaces or at heights when needed
May involve shift duties and emergency callouts
