We are hiring an experienced Senior Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC & Chillers to lead the maintenance, operation, and performance optimization of HVAC and chiller systems in a power plant environment. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise, people management skills, and a proactive approach to asset reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Lead the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of central HVAC systems, centrifugal chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, heat exchangers, and control systems.
Drive performance optimization strategies to reduce energy consumption and enhance system uptime.
Define and update maintenance standards and ensure alignment with power plant operational goals.
Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, junior supervisors, and contractors.
Develop work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor job execution quality and timeliness.
Lead critical system repairs, overhauls, and shutdown activities.
Ensure full compliance with plant safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and HVAC standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, API).
Conduct safety audits, toolbox meetings, and risk assessments for HVAC and chiller operations.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance using CMMS.
Review and validate work orders, performance metrics, and asset health reports.
Prepare technical reports and participate in root cause analyses for equipment failures.
Supervise third-party service providers and ensure compliance with technical scopes and plant policies.
Review vendor proposals, method statements, and commissioning procedures.
Participate in procurement planning and asset lifecycle evaluations.
Leadership of HVAC/chiller maintenance teams in a power plant
System performance optimization and troubleshooting
Maintenance strategy execution and reliability improvement
Compliance with safety, HVAC codes, and plant regulations
CMMS oversight and vendor/project coordination
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline
Certifications (Preferred):
ASHRAE membership, HVAC/R certification, or chilled water plant operation credentials
Experience:
8+ years of HVAC/chiller maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory capacity
Background in power plants, industrial utilities, or mission-critical facilities
Skills:
Deep understanding of HVAC control logic, load balancing, chilled water systems, and airflow distribution
Strong leadership, team development, and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in CMMS, technical documentation, and maintenance analytics
Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and thermal system evaluations
