Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC & Chillers

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC & Chillers with experience in managing maintenance teams and systems in a power plant or heavy industrial environment. This role will supervise the operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of large-capacity HVAC and chiller systems. The ideal candidate will ensure high equipment reliability, safety compliance, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC & Chiller System Management:

• Supervise the maintenance and operation of HVAC equipment, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, and associated systems.

• Oversee inspections, repairs, and optimization of mechanical performance.

• Ensure systems operate within defined parameters and respond to issues promptly.

Team Leadership & Task Planning:

• Coordinate daily work schedules for technicians and contractors.

• Provide hands-on supervision and technical support during major repairs and shutdowns.

• Evaluate team performance and recommend training or improvements.

Safety, Quality & Compliance:

• Enforce strict compliance with plant safety procedures, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and environmental standards.

• Lead toolbox talks and support incident investigations.

• Maintain a culture of safe working and proactive hazard control.

Maintenance Management:

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance routines using CMMS systems.

• Track work orders, equipment history, and maintenance KPIs.

• Recommend system upgrades or replacements based on performance data.

Inventory & Vendor Coordination:

• Manage spare parts inventory and initiate procurement requests.

• Liaise with vendors for technical support, quotations, and service coordination.

• Review and verify contractor work and ensure compliance with scope.

• Safety compliance and preventive maintenance execution

• Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and reliability improvements

• Equipment data tracking and CMMS utilization

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field

Experience:

• 4–7 years of hands-on HVAC/chiller system experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

• Industrial or power plant HVAC system exposure required

Skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems including chilled water systems and ventilation networks

• Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and system manuals

• Familiarity with CMMS platforms and basic maintenance documentation

• Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills
