Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Sales Manager – Pumps & Motors is responsible for overseeing sales operations, business development, and client management for industrial pumps and electric motors. This includes centrifugal, submersible, multistage, vertical/horizontal pumps and LV/MV/HV electric motors. The role focuses on securing new projects, supporting customers technically, and achieving business growth in sectors like oil & gas, water, power, HVAC, and manufacturing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for pumps and motors across targeted industrial and infrastructure sectors.

  • Manage the complete sales cycle including lead generation, client meetings, technical proposals, and contract closure.

  • Prepare quotations and technical-commercial offers in response to RFQs and tenders.

  • Provide product selection support based on application requirements, flow rates, head, efficiency, and motor compatibility.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and direct customers.

  • Collaborate with application engineers, service teams, and project teams to ensure proper delivery and support.

  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing to maintain competitiveness and profitability.

  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and site meetings to promote pump and motor offerings.

  • Maintain CRM records, forecast sales, and report progress to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).

  • 5–8 years of experience in technical sales of pumps, motors, or rotating equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of pump selection, hydraulic principles, motor sizing, and industrial applications.

  • Familiarity with international standards (API, ANSI, ISO, NEMA, IEC).

  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing large client portfolios.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in water utilities, oil & gas, HVAC, or industrial plants.

  • Understanding of VFDs, motor controls, and energy-efficient pump systems.

  • Existing network of mechanical consultants, plant operators, and procurement contacts.

  • Ability to travel frequently for business development and client servicing.
