The Mechanical Sales Manager – Pumps & Motors is responsible for overseeing sales operations, business development, and client management for industrial pumps and electric motors. This includes centrifugal, submersible, multistage, vertical/horizontal pumps and LV/MV/HV electric motors. The role focuses on securing new projects, supporting customers technically, and achieving business growth in sectors like oil & gas, water, power, HVAC, and manufacturing.
Develop and execute sales strategies for pumps and motors across targeted industrial and infrastructure sectors.
Manage the complete sales cycle including lead generation, client meetings, technical proposals, and contract closure.
Prepare quotations and technical-commercial offers in response to RFQs and tenders.
Provide product selection support based on application requirements, flow rates, head, efficiency, and motor compatibility.
Build and maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, OEMs, consultants, and direct customers.
Collaborate with application engineers, service teams, and project teams to ensure proper delivery and support.
Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
Attend industry events, exhibitions, and site meetings to promote pump and motor offerings.
Maintain CRM records, forecast sales, and report progress to senior management.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
5–8 years of experience in technical sales of pumps, motors, or rotating equipment.
Strong knowledge of pump selection, hydraulic principles, motor sizing, and industrial applications.
Familiarity with international standards (API, ANSI, ISO, NEMA, IEC).
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing large client portfolios.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
Experience in water utilities, oil & gas, HVAC, or industrial plants.
Understanding of VFDs, motor controls, and energy-efficient pump systems.
Existing network of mechanical consultants, plant operators, and procurement contacts.
Ability to travel frequently for business development and client servicing.
