Job Summary:

The Mechanical Sales Director – Turbine Systems is responsible for leading sales strategy, business development, and key account management for industrial and power-generation turbines, including steam turbines, gas turbines, and related auxiliary systems. The role demands strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and commercial leadership to grow market share and drive revenue in energy-intensive industries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales efforts for steam turbines, gas turbines, and combined-cycle systems across industrial and utility markets.

  • Identify new business opportunities and manage key client relationships with EPCs, OEMs, power utilities, and industrial end users.

  • Manage the end-to-end sales process including prequalification, technical proposals, tenders, pricing, and contract negotiations.

  • Provide technical consultation to clients on turbine selection, sizing, efficiency, and integration with power systems.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to align customer needs with deliverables.

  • Oversee market intelligence activities and adjust the sales strategy to stay competitive.

  • Present solutions at client meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences.

  • Drive cross-selling opportunities with related products (generators, compressors, balance-of-plant equipment).

  • Develop and monitor KPIs for sales team performance and revenue targets.

  • Train and mentor regional sales teams on turbine technology and solution-based selling.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Power Engineering (MBA or commercial qualification is a plus).

  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development for turbines, rotating equipment, or power systems, with at least 3–5 years in a director or leadership role.

  • Deep technical understanding of steam and gas turbine technologies, applications, and life-cycle services.

  • Proven track record of securing high-value contracts in the power, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal tools.


Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with turbine refurbishment, retrofitting, or long-term service agreements (LTSA).

  • Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, IEC) and grid integration requirements.

  • Global exposure with experience in regional markets (e.g., MENA, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa).

  • Knowledge of hybrid and renewable integration with traditional turbine systems.
