- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from manufacturing processes. Assist in identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for process improvement.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Support troubleshooting efforts for mechanical system issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, quality, maintenance) to ensure processes are running smoothly and meet quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the application of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Testing & Validation: Assist in testing and validating new processes or equipment to ensure they meet operational and performance requirements.
- Training & Support: Provide support to the production team by helping train operators and technicians on new processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
Key Focus Areas:
- Process Optimization: Support efforts to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and systems.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Assist in identifying and solving mechanical process issues to maintain operational efficiency.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all processes are documented correctly and comply with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in mechanical process engineering or a related field (internships or co-op experience are a plus).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic engineering analysis tools. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and basic mechanical principles.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and contribute to solutions.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and contribute to technical documentation.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and specifications carefully.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support the implementation of new processes.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or similar).
- CAD or process simulation tool certification.
