The Mid-Level Mechanical Maintenance Technician independently performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC mechanical systems within water treatment plants. This role ensures HVAC equipment operates efficiently and reliably to maintain optimal plant environmental conditions, supporting compliance with safety and operational standards.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC mechanical components such as motors, fans, belts, bearings, compressors, pumps, and filters.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform repairs on HVAC equipment including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and ventilation systems.
Assist with installation, adjustment, and calibration of HVAC mechanical equipment.
Monitor system performance and report operational issues or needed improvements.
Follow and enforce safety protocols such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and PPE usage.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in CMMS or maintenance logs.
Support junior technicians through guidance and training as required.
Participate in continuous training and skills development programs.
Education:
Technical diploma or certificate in HVAC, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably with HVAC systems in water treatment or industrial environments
Skills:
Solid mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures
Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical components and systems
Good communication, teamwork, and safety awareness
