We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to support the upkeep, inspection, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery within a manufacturing facility. This role involves assisting in supervising maintenance teams, conducting preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensuring equipment reliability and availability for production operations.
Assist in scheduling and executing preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, motors, piping, etc.)
Maintain service records and update checklists
Ensure use of appropriate tools, lubricants, and replacement parts
Support mechanical troubleshooting during equipment breakdowns
Help identify causes of failure and coordinate corrective actions with technicians
Ensure prompt restoration of equipment to minimize production downtime
Supervise small teams of fitters and mechanical technicians under guidance
Monitor adherence to maintenance schedules and work orders
Assist in allocating daily tasks and reviewing completion status
Ensure safety compliance during mechanical work (e.g., lockout/tagout, confined space)
Participate in toolbox talks and encourage safe working practices
Comply with environmental, health, and equipment safety regulations
Maintain daily maintenance logs, inspection reports, and breakdown history
Record part usage and coordinate with inventory/stores for spares
Report recurring faults to senior engineers for long-term resolution
Support daily mechanical maintenance activities in the plant
Supervise execution of minor repairs and preventive checks
Escalate unresolved issues to senior staff or OEM representatives
Conduct basic inspections of rotating equipment and utility systems
Assist during major shutdowns or equipment overhauls
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance
0–2 years experience in mechanical maintenance (internship or field training preferred)
Basic knowledge of pumps, bearings, gear drives, mechanical seals, pneumatic systems, etc.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and machinery is an advantage
Basic mechanical troubleshooting and assembly skills
Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and best practices
Ability to read mechanical drawings, piping layouts, and equipment manuals
Working knowledge of safety practices and plant maintenance tools
Good communication, record-keeping, and teamwork skills
Shop-floor and machinery-area based role
Exposure to heat, noise, dust, and rotating equipment
Shift work, weekend duties, and overtime may be required
PPE must be worn at all times on the shop floor
