The Mid-Level Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees day-to-day execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for critical mechanical assets (e.g., pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, piping systems). This role leads a team of technicians, optimizes maintenance workflows, drives reliability projects, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Develop and refine weekly/monthly maintenance schedules in the CMMS based on asset criticality and production demands.
Coordinate planned maintenance windows with operations to minimize downtime.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate 5–10 technicians; conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
Lead skills-up programs on advanced mechanical repair techniques and condition-monitoring methods.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Oversee implementation of vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and other predictive technologies.
Validate and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) routes, work instructions, and intervals.
Corrective & Emergency Maintenance
Lead root-cause troubleshooting of complex equipment failures; apply structured problem-solving (5-Why, Fishbone).
Ensure rapid deployment of resources and availability of critical spares for emergency repairs.
Reliability & Continuous Improvement
Track and analyze maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, planned/unplanned ratio, schedule compliance); implement corrective actions.
Drive small-scale reliability projects (e.g., bearing upgrades, alignment improvements, retrofit kits).
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Enforce LOTO, permit-to-work, and EHS procedures; lead incident investigations and preventive measures.
Ensure mechanical maintenance work meets internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
CMMS Management & Reporting
Maintain CMMS data integrity; audits work orders and asset histories for accuracy.
Prepare and present monthly maintenance performance reports to plant leadership.
