The Mechanical Maintenance Manager – HVAC Systems is responsible for leading the maintenance and reliability programs for HVAC mechanical systems across manufacturing facilities. This role ensures HVAC equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime to support continuous production. The manager oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, manages maintenance teams, and implements best practices to optimize system performance and lifecycle costs.
Manage and lead the HVAC maintenance team, including technicians and contractors, ensuring timely execution of all maintenance tasks.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment, including chillers, air handling units, boilers, cooling towers, and ventilation systems.
Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshooting to minimize production impact.
Analyze HVAC system performance data to identify issues and develop corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.
Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement maintenance improvement initiatives.
Oversee maintenance of controls, instrumentation, and automation components related to HVAC systems.
Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
Procure maintenance materials, tools, and service contracts while optimizing cost-effectiveness.
Plan and schedule maintenance labor and resources to align with production requirements.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ASHRAE).
Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team, conducting regular training and audits.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation to support audits and inspections.
Partner with production, engineering, and facilities teams to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting manufacturing operations.
Support new equipment commissioning, upgrades, and installation projects.
Facilitate communication and coordination with vendors, contractors, and service providers.

8+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical systems maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
Experience in manufacturing or industrial plant environments preferred
Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, controls, and maintenance best practices
Expertise in HVAC system components including chillers, AHUs, boilers, and controls
Proficient in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and data analysis tools
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems and lead maintenance teams effectively
