The Mechanical Integrity Engineer (Mid-Level) is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, and static equipment by overseeing inspection, maintenance, and compliance programs. This role involves interpreting inspection data, assessing equipment condition, and providing technical recommendations based on industry standards and risk-based practices.
Develop and maintain inspection plans for pressure vessels, columns, drums, separators, and storage tanks (API 510/653).
Interpret thickness readings, corrosion data, and NDE findings to assess asset condition.
Support shutdown/turnaround planning and provide technical oversight during internal inspections.
Apply relevant codes and standards such as API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME Section VIII/IX, and NBIC.
Perform basic fitness-for-service (FFS) evaluations, corrosion rate calculations, and minimum thickness assessments.
Review and validate inspection and repair documentation.
Participate in or lead RBI assessments for fixed equipment and tanks.
Prioritize inspection schedules and mitigation plans based on risk evaluation.
Integrate RBI outputs into asset integrity management systems.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) for mechanical failures involving pressure vessels or tanks.
Document findings and recommend corrective actions to restore asset integrity.
Interface with reliability, inspection, and maintenance teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment histories, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
Utilize CMMS, IDMS, or integrity management software for data tracking and reporting.
Contribute to integrity audits and regulatory compliance reviews.
Review design packages, MOCs, and repair plans from a mechanical integrity perspective.
Verify proposed modifications and materials are compliant with applicable standards and service requirements.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
4–8 years of experience in mechanical integrity, inspection engineering, or static equipment reliability.
Working knowledge of pressure vessel and tank integrity assessments.
Familiarity with RBI methodology and integrity software tools.
Preferred certifications: API 510, API 653, API 570, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of degradation mechanisms (corrosion, erosion, fatigue, etc.)
Proficient in interpreting NDE reports, drawings, and inspection data
Effective technical writing and reporting skills
Strong safety awareness and field coordination experience
Ability to interface with inspection, maintenance, and operations teams
Analytical thinking and problem-solving in equipment integrity cases
