Job Summary:

The Mechanical HVAC Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing all mechanical HVAC maintenance activities within a power plant facility. This role ensures the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repair of HVAC systems critical to plant environment control and personnel comfort. The manager supervises maintenance teams, develops maintenance strategies, and drives continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Leadership:

• Oversee daily mechanical HVAC maintenance operations including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

• Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to maximize equipment availability and reliability.

• Lead root cause analysis of HVAC system failures and coordinate corrective actions.

Team Management:

• Supervise HVAC maintenance technicians and contractors, providing guidance, training, and performance management.

• Allocate resources effectively to meet maintenance priorities and plant operational needs.

• Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team.

System Performance & Reliability:

• Monitor HVAC system performance and recommend improvements or upgrades as necessary.

• Ensure HVAC equipment compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.

Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols related to HVAC maintenance activities.

• Conduct safety inspections and ensure use of proper PPE.

• Support audits and regulatory compliance related to HVAC systems.

Budget & Vendor Management:

• Manage maintenance budgets, including labor, materials, and equipment.

• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for parts procurement and specialized services.

• Evaluate and approve contractor work for quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field

Experience:

• 8+ years of mechanical HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in power plant or industrial settings

• Proven experience managing maintenance teams and programs

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems and equipment

• Excellent leadership and organizational skills

• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS)
