The Junior Mechanical Fitter – Pressure Systems assists in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and inspection of pressure vessels, piping systems, and related mechanical components within food and beverage processing environments. Under the guidance of senior fitters or engineers, the role supports safe and compliant operation of steam, compressed air, and sanitary pressure systems.
Assist in assembling and installing pressure pipes, flanges, valves, fittings, and sanitary connections.
Support alignment and fitting tasks on tanks, heat exchangers, and utility lines.
Use hand tools, grinders, and torque equipment under supervision.
Support basic maintenance of mechanical seals, gaskets, expansion joints, and valve internals.
Clean and prepare components for inspection, welding, or pressure testing.
Help dismantle and reassemble piping for system access or upgrades.
Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry procedures.
Understand and comply with pressure system safety standards (ASME, 3-A, etc.).
Assist in keeping mechanical rooms and tools clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
Learn to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment layout schematics.
Record maintenance tasks, material usage, and hours in work order systems.
Participate in training on pressure systems, sanitary design, and workplace safety.

Basic mechanical aptitude with tools, fittings, and fasteners
Familiarity with sanitary piping, clamps, and pressure-rated components
