The Mechanical Engineer – Valve Design is responsible for the development, analysis, and validation of industrial valve products used across fluid control applications including oil & gas, water treatment, HVAC, and process industries. This role involves detailed design work, engineering analysis, material selection, and technical support for manufacturing and testing activities. The engineer contributes to new product development, cost optimization, and continuous improvement projects while ensuring compliance with ASME, API, and ANSI standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop valve components (e.g., bodies, discs, stems, seats, actuators) using 3D CAD tools and engineering best practices.
Conduct engineering calculations for stress, pressure containment, flow, and thermal performance.
Interpret and apply design standards including ASME B16.34, API 6D, ANSI, and customer specifications.
Lead or support product development projects from concept to production, including DFMEA and DVP&R creation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, sourcing, testing, and quality) to ensure design for manufacturability and reliability.
Oversee design validation activities, including prototype testing, failure analysis, and technical reporting.
Support design documentation, engineering change requests (ECRs), and BOM management in PLM/ERP systems.
Key Focus Areas:
End-to-end valve product design and development
Compliance with industry standards and pressure equipment codes
Engineering analysis and material selection
Cross-functional collaboration with testing, QA, and production teams
Product validation, test planning, and design improvements
Design documentation and engineering change management
