The Junior Mechanical Engineer – Valve Design supports the development, modeling, and testing of industrial valves used in applications such as oil & gas, water treatment, HVAC, and general fluid control systems. This entry-level role assists senior engineers with the creation of 3D models, engineering drawings, material selection, and design calculations while gaining hands-on experience with industry standards and real-world design challenges. The position offers strong growth potential in mechanical design and product development within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for valve components including bodies, stems, discs, seats, seals, and actuators.
Support engineering changes, BOM updates, and documentation related to valve design revisions.
Perform basic design calculations (e.g., stress, flow, thermal) under guidance from senior engineers.
Help review and interpret industry standards such as ASME, API, and ANSI for incorporation into designs.
Participate in prototype development, testing, and root cause analysis of design issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and sourcing to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Document technical reports, testing data, and design validation summaries.
