The Senior Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Support is a technical leader responsible for driving the design, development, and validation of automotive HVAC systems and components. This role leads complex thermal and mechanical engineering projects, oversees testing and analysis, and ensures HVAC systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. The senior engineer mentors junior staff, collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, and contributes to strategic HVAC innovations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of HVAC components such as ducts, heat exchangers, blowers, and control systems using advanced CAD and CAE tools.
Oversee and guide thermal and mechanical simulations (CFD, FEA) to validate and enhance HVAC system performance.
Manage HVAC system testing programs, including defining test plans, supervising execution, analyzing results, and reporting findings.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system design and performance issues in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and supplier partners.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation related to HVAC system design and testing.
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, promoting technical growth and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including vehicle integration, controls, and compliance to ensure holistic HVAC system solutions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on HVAC design, testing methodologies, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
Experience:
7+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience with a focus on automotive HVAC systems
Proven track record leading HVAC design, testing, and validation projects
Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency in CAD (CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools (ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, etc.)
Deep understanding of thermal dynamics, fluid flow, and HVAC system performance metrics
Strong experience with HVAC testing equipment and data analysis software
