The Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Support at the mid-level independently designs, analyzes, and validates HVAC components and systems for automotive applications. This role involves conducting thermal and mechanical simulations, leading test activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure HVAC system performance meets design, quality, and safety standards. The engineer contributes to troubleshooting, design improvements, and documentation while mentoring junior engineers and supporting project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently design and develop HVAC components such as ducts, heat exchangers, blowers, and control devices using CAD and CAE tools.
Conduct thermal and mechanical simulations (CFD, FEA) to validate HVAC system performance and support design optimization.
Lead and coordinate HVAC system testing and validation, including planning test protocols, supervising test execution, and analyzing data.
Troubleshoot HVAC design or performance issues, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation including design reports, test plans, and validation records.
Mentor and support junior engineers in technical tasks and professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HVAC systems within vehicle platforms, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HVAC design and testing processes.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline
Advanced coursework or certifications in HVAC or thermal systems is beneficial
Experience:
3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience with a focus on HVAC system design and testing
Hands-on experience with CFD, FEA, and HVAC component testing
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
Experience with thermal and fluid simulations (ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, or similar)
Familiarity with HVAC testing equipment and data analysis tools
