The Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fabrication and Equipment leads the design, analysis, and engineering support for the fabrication of complex custom equipment, including process skids, pressure vessels, tanks, and mechanical assemblies. This role is responsible for ensuring design integrity, fabrication feasibility, standards compliance, and technical mentorship.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of industry codes and manufacturing methods, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through fabrication and testing.

Lead the mechanical design of complex fabricated systems including tanks, pressure vessels, structural frames, and equipment skids.
Review and approve detailed 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, weld maps, and layouts.
Ensure integration of piping, instrumentation, and mechanical components aligns with project and regulatory requirements.
Perform or validate critical calculations for pressure, thermal expansion, nozzle loads, support structures, and weld design.
Ensure designs meet or exceed compliance requirements from ASME (e.g., Section VIII, B31.3), AWS, 3-A Sanitary, and ISO standards.
Lead or support FEA and simulation efforts when required.
Collaborate with fabrication and QA/QC teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.
Provide hands-on support and technical resolution during fabrication, welding, and inspection stages.
Contribute to factory acceptance tests (FATs) and final equipment validations.
Serve as the technical authority on assigned projects, interfacing with internal stakeholders, clients, and third-party inspectors.
Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and troubleshooting for mechanical issues.
Coordinate with project management to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on best practices in mechanical design and fabrication.
Develop and improve engineering standards, design libraries, and quality processes.
Drive innovation in materials, construction methods, and cost-saving opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in mechanical design and fabrication engineering.
Deep experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and mechanical analysis tools.
Strong knowledge of ASME codes, welding standards, and fabrication practices.
Proven experience with custom equipment used in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical processing.
FEA and pressure vessel design experience.
Working knowledge of hygienic and sanitary design principles.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and PDM platforms.
Strong communication skills for client and team interaction.
