We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Fabrication to lead complex mechanical design projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation in fabrication-oriented product development. The role involves the creation of optimized designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, structural integrity, and ease of assembly, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Lead the design and development of complex fabricated mechanical components, systems, and assemblies.
Prepare and review detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and technical documentation for fabrication and assembly.
Drive design optimization for manufacturability (DFM) and fabrication efficiency, including material and process selection.
Collaborate closely with production, procurement, QA/QC, and project management teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Conduct advanced tolerance stack-ups, apply GD&T, and ensure compliance with design and fabrication standards.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and review support for junior and mid-level design engineers.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and client technical meetings.
Innovate and implement cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and process improvement projects.
Interface with vendors and subcontractors for design clarifications and manufacturing support.
Stay updated with the latest trends in fabrication technologies, materials, and industry standards.
Ensure compliance with international and customer-specific codes (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.) in all designs.
