We are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our Marine Systems team. This role involves hands-on mechanical assembly, fitting, and testing of marine components and systems such as propulsion units, hydraulic systems, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate has a technical background, good mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, marine-focused production environment.
Assist in the mechanical assembly of marine system components, including engines, pumps, valves, and structural components.
Follow detailed engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform sub-assembly and final assembly tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for assembly and inspection.
Ensure all assemblies meet quality standards and functional requirements.
Support system testing, troubleshooting, and calibration under supervision.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and quality assurance teams for continuous improvement.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills.
Mechanical Assembly: Hands-on involvement in building and fitting components accurately and efficiently.
Marine Systems Knowledge: Gaining familiarity with propulsion systems, hydraulic circuits, and marine-grade materials.
Technical Documentation: Understanding and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
Quality & Precision: Ensuring high attention to detail and compliance with marine safety and performance standards.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with senior technicians and cross-functional teams to meet production targets.
Diploma / ITI / Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, or related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or apprenticeships are a plus).
Basic understanding of mechanical principles, tools, and assembly techniques.
Ability to read technical drawings and mechanical schematics.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Safety-conscious with good problem-solving abilities.
Previous experience in marine or mechanical assembly.
Familiarity with ISO or marine quality standards.
Forklift or crane operation experience (if applicable)
