The Junior Mechanical Assembly Supervisor – Valve Systems supports daily operations of valve assembly lines by coordinating workflows, assisting with team supervision, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. This entry-level supervisory role is ideal for candidates transitioning from a senior technician or lead assembler role into a leadership position. The supervisor works closely with senior supervisors and production managers to maintain throughput, resolve basic production issues, and ensure proper documentation and training of operators.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Line Coordination
Monitor day-to-day valve assembly tasks, ensuring alignment with production targets.
Assign work to operators and provide hands-on support during mechanical assembly.
Track progress against schedules and notify leadership of delays or material shortages.
Quality & Safety Support
Perform basic inspections of subassemblies to verify compliance with specifications.
Enforce adherence to safety protocols and proper use of tools and fixtures.
Escalate quality or safety concerns promptly to senior supervisors or QA staff.
Team Support & Training
Support onboarding and training of new assembly operators on procedures and safety.
Assist in maintaining training records and ensuring SOPs are followed on the line.
Foster teamwork and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete shift reports, time tracking, and production documentation.
Record part usage, downtime, and defects for traceability and process improvement.
Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate basic troubleshooting with maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or technical school certification required
Associate degree in Mechanical Technology or Industrial Operations preferred
Experience:
2–3 years of hands-on experience in valve or mechanical component assembly
Prior experience as a lead assembler or line lead is a strong plus
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques, torque tools, and testing procedures
Ability to read mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and bill of materials (BOMs)
Familiarity with hand tools, pneumatic tools, and shop safety practices
Soft Skills:
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to organize tasks and provide guidance to peers
Willingness to learn and grow into a more senior supervisory role
