The Junior Mechanical Assembly Supervisor assists in supervising day-to-day activities within the mechanical assembly line. The role focuses on coordinating team members, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of mechanical components and assembly processes, along with the ability to support frontline operations under the guidance of senior supervisors.
Support planning and coordination of mechanical assembly operations to meet production targets.
Monitor assembly line activities to ensure adherence to work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
Assist in assigning daily tasks to technicians and operators and follow up on completion.
Support first-level troubleshooting for mechanical issues during assembly.
Ensure safety protocols and housekeeping practices are followed on the shop floor.
Track and report daily production metrics and highlight variances.
Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and logistics teams to support efficient workflows.
Participate in training sessions and team briefings to enhance workforce skills and communication.
Escalate technical or process issues to senior supervisors for resolution.
Mechanical Assembly Line Oversight
(Support coordination of mechanical subassemblies such as chassis frames, panels, brackets, housings)
Work Instructions & Process Compliance
(Ensure teams follow SOPs, torque specs, and alignment procedures)
Quality and Safety Support
(Assist with visual inspection, basic defect detection, and safe tool usage)
Production Reporting & Communication
(Log daily progress, identify delays or shortages, and report issues to higher-level supervisors)
Tool and Fixture Readiness
(Check availability and basic functionality of hand tools, jigs, and fixtures)
Team Support & Workforce Supervision
(Guide small operator teams and support training and orientation of new hires)
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes and tools.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Willingness to work in a hands-on, shop-floor-based supervisory role.
Exposure to lean manufacturing or 5S practices.
Familiarity with mechanical drawings and torque specifications.
Basic knowledge of ERP or MES systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
