We are looking for a dependable and skilled Senior Material Handler to take a leading role in the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and materials management. This position involves advanced material handling tasks, inventory control, and team coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong logistical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to support and guide junior staff while ensuring efficient and accurate materials movement.
Lead and coordinate daily material handling activities, including receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, and shipping.
Oversee accurate and timely inventory transactions in warehouse management systems (WMS).
Train, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level material handlers.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in compliance with safety standards.
Conduct and support regular cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations.
Ensure materials are correctly labeled, stored, and handled per safety and quality standards.
Liaise with internal departments (production, quality, logistics) to ensure timely material availability and delivery.
Identify and suggest process improvements related to warehouse operations and inventory flow.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment.
Report operational issues, material shortages, or damage to supervisors promptly.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred.
4–6 years of experience in material handling, logistics, or warehouse operations.
Strong experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools.
Forklift certification (must be current).
Proven leadership and team coordination experience.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, pharmaceuticals).
Familiarity with lean practices, 5S, and continuous improvement.
Working knowledge of ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
