We are looking for an experienced Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer specializing in valve and fluid systems to lead engineering projects related to marine fluid control technologies. This senior role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and hands-on involvement in the design, analysis, and optimization of complex valve and fluid systems on marine vessels and offshore installations. The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive innovation in marine mechanical systems.
Lead the design, development, and optimization of marine valve and fluid systems including control valves, pumps, piping networks, and fluid handling equipment.
Oversee detailed mechanical analysis, troubleshooting, and failure investigations related to valve and fluid systems.
Manage and mentor junior engineers, providing technical direction and fostering professional development.
Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and project deliverables to ensure engineering integrity.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
Develop and implement testing protocols for valve performance, fluid system integrity, and compliance with marine regulations.
Provide technical support during commissioning, operation, and maintenance phases of marine fluid systems.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant marine industry standards and classification society requirements (e.g., IMO, ABS, DNV).
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and introduce new technologies or methodologies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Prepare and present technical reports, risk assessments, and project status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in marine mechanical engineering with a focus on valve and fluid systems.
Proven track record in leading engineering projects for marine vessels or offshore facilities.
Deep knowledge of fluid mechanics, valve engineering, hydraulic systems, and marine standards.
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering simulation software (e.g., CFD, FEA).
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Familiarity with marine classification society rules and international maritime regulations.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle complex technical challenges.
Willingness to travel or work offshore as necessary.
Professional Engineering license or Chartered Engineer status.
Experience with advanced fluid system modeling and simulation tools.
Knowledge of marine propulsion and auxiliary fluid systems.
Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams or projects.
