The Manufacturing Manager – Valve Housing and Pipe Assembly Fabrication is responsible for overseeing all shop-floor activities related to the fabrication, welding, and assembly of valve housings, piping spools, and associated pressure-retaining components. This role ensures efficient production processes, product quality, and safety compliance, while coordinating closely with engineering, planning, and quality departments to meet project delivery timelines and performance targets.
Lead daily operations for fabrication and assembly of valve housings, pipe spools, flanged joints, and hydraulic/pneumatic assemblies.
Oversee welding, machining, fitting, and hydro-testing operations in accordance with ASME, API, and project-specific standards.
Manage manpower planning, shift allocation, and shop floor supervision to achieve production efficiency and throughput targets.
Ensure compliance with detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and customer specifications during fabrication and assembly.
Work closely with engineering and QA/QC teams to address technical queries, dimensional issues, and non-conformances.
Support qualification of welders, procedures (WPS/PQR), and assembly personnel.
Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize material flow, minimize rework, and reduce cycle times.
Maintain control over tooling, fixtures, consumables, and maintenance schedules for production equipment.
Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, OEE, quality defects, and delivery compliance.
Enforce HSE standards across the manufacturing floor and participate in regular safety audits and training.
Ensure full traceability of materials, welds, and pressure testing in compliance with project and regulatory documentation.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related discipline.
8–12 years of experience in industrial fabrication or valve and piping assembly, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of fabrication codes and standards: ASME B31.1/B31.3, API 6D/600, ISO 9001, and related NDT/testing requirements.
Proficiency in interpreting fabrication and isometric drawings, welding symbols, and QA documentation.
Familiarity with hydrostatic testing, air leak testing, and valve sealing criteria.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing teams of welders, fitters, machinists, and assemblers.
Certification such as AWS-CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or ASME Section IX experience.
Prior experience in marine, oil & gas, or process industry valve fabrication projects.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing dashboards (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IFS).
Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Primarily shop-floor based with frequent exposure to welding, machining, testing, and lifting operations.
PPE and adherence to all health and safety regulations is mandatory.
May require extended hours or shift supervision during critical project phases.
