This role is responsible for managing production workflows, ensuring adherence to quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, ABS), optimizing throughput, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a high-spec manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead daily operations in the production of turbine components such as blades, rotors, casings, nozzles, and seals for marine gas and steam turbine systems.

    • Plan and manage manufacturing schedules, capacity planning, and resource allocation to meet project timelines and customer specifications.

    • Oversee machining (CNC turning/milling), precision welding, casting, heat treatment, coating, and final assembly processes.

    • Ensure compliance with quality control protocols, including non-destructive testing (NDT), dimensional inspections, and metallurgical verification.

    • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and incorporate design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback.

    • Drive Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time.

    • Manage shop floor personnel including machinists, inspectors, welders, and technicians; provide training, performance reviews, and workload balancing.

    • Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental standards in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001.

    • Interface with OEM clients, marine classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR), and regulatory auditors for inspections and certifications.

    • Monitor and control manufacturing budgets, cost of goods sold (COGS), and capital equipment planning.

Key Focus Areas:

    • High-Precision Machining and Assembly of Marine Turbine Components

    • Rotating Equipment Manufacturing (Disks, Blades, Shafts, Casings)

    • Marine Standards Compliance (ABS, DNV, USCG, IMO)

    • Lean Manufacturing, CNC Operations, and Metallurgical Quality Assurance

    • Production Scheduling and Team Leadership in a Heavy Industrial Setting

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

    • 7–10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.

    • Hands-on experience with the manufacturing of turbine or precision aerospace/marine components.

    • Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies including CNC machining, thermal processing, and material properties of superalloys (e.g., Inconel, titanium, stainless steel).

    • Familiarity with marine and naval component specifications, tolerances, and class society requirements.

Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with ERP and MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc.)

    • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)

    • OEM or defense program experience in marine propulsion systems

    • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and API standards

    • Exposure to digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0 practices, and smart shop floor analytics

Work Environment:

    • Manufacturing floor with occasional exposure to high temperatures, machinery, and noise.

    • Requires use of PPE and adherence to factory safety protocols.

    • Some travel may be required for supplier audits or client meeting
