The Manufacturing Manager for Turbine Blade and Rotor Fabrication will oversee the production processes involved in manufacturing high-precision turbine blades and rotors used in aerospace and industrial gas turbines. This role focuses on managing fabrication operations, ensuring quality standards, optimizing manufacturing efficiency, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals and customer requirements.
Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations for turbine blade and rotor fabrication, including casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, and finishing.
Lead and develop a team of manufacturing supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Ensure production processes comply with engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Implement and monitor manufacturing workflows to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and improve processes.
Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure machinery is calibrated and functioning properly.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Manage production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation to meet delivery timelines.
Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
Prepare reports on manufacturing performance, quality metrics, and project status for senior management.
Support supplier qualification and audit processes related to raw materials and components.
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in aerospace turbine blade and rotor fabrication.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as precision casting, forging, CNC machining, heat treatment, and surface finishing.
Experience leading teams in a production environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with advanced materials like superalloys and coatings used in turbine components.
Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques relevant to turbine parts.
Familiarity with production planning and ERP systems.
