This role is responsible for managing production teams, driving throughput and quality, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, and leading cross-functional coordination with engineering, quality, and supply chain. The manager ensures that HVAC systems for aircraft are built to precise specifications and delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead manufacturing operations for aerospace HVAC module and subassembly lines, including mechanical, thermal, and electronic integration
Supervise production teams, cell leaders, and technicians across multiple shifts, maintaining safety and efficiency
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (AS9100, FAA Part 21, ISO 9001) and internal quality systems
Develop and implement production schedules, resource planning, and line balancing for HVAC module builds
Drive lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve process efficiency
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, yield, downtime, and on-time delivery
Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to resolve technical issues, implement design changes, and optimize manufacturability
Manage non-conformance investigations and root cause corrective action (RCCA) for HVAC assembly defects or delays
Support capital planning, layout optimization, tooling development, and automation projects
Ensure proper training and development of personnel for HVAC system assembly techniques and safety protocols
Interface with supply chain for material availability, inventory accuracy, and vendor quality concerns
Key Focus Areas:
End-to-end production management of aerospace HVAC modules
Quality, schedule, and cost performance of assembly operations
Leadership of shop floor teams and technician development
Lean manufacturing, process improvement, and RCCA
Cross-functional coordination with engineering, quality, and supply chain
