We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering and process development for aerospace fabrication operations. This role will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, introducing new technologies, and driving continuous improvement in the production of precision aerospace metal components. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical depth, and a commitment to quality and efficiency in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Lead a team of manufacturing/process engineers and technicians in supporting aerospace fabrication processes (sheet metal, welding, forming, CNC, assembly).
Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that improve productivity, reduce cost, and maintain compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP).
Oversee process design, tooling, fixtures, and documentation (work instructions, travelers, PFMEAs, control plans).
Support new product introductions (NPI) by developing robust, scalable fabrication processes in alignment with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
Collaborate with quality, production, and design engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve part quality.
Ensure timely disposition of non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Drive process validation and qualification for special processes such as welding, heat treatment, and chemical finishing.
Maintain compliance with aerospace regulations, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
Mentor and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Aerospace Process Optimization: Drive improvements in metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to ensure precision, quality, and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing manufacturing engineering team to support operational goals.
