Manufacturing Engineer – Valve and ECS Component Fabrication

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing processes for valve and Environmental Control System (ECS) component fabrication. This role involves process development, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to ensure efficient production and high-quality outputs aligned with industry standards.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Process Development & Optimization:
    Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes for valve and ECS components to improve quality, reduce cycle time, and increase throughput.

  2. Production Support & Troubleshooting:
    Provide technical support to production teams, quickly diagnosing and resolving manufacturing issues to minimize downtime.

  3. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    Ensure all fabrication processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, overseeing inspections, audits, and documentation.

  4. Tooling & Equipment Management:
    Select, design, and maintain tooling and equipment necessary for valve and ECS component manufacturing.

  5. Cost Reduction & Efficiency Improvement:
    Identify and implement lean manufacturing techniques and other continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and waste.

  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, timely delivery, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process validation and capability studies for valve and ECS component fabrication.

  • Develop process documentation including work instructions, process flow charts, and control plans.

  • Manage root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

  • Support supplier qualification and collaborate on material and tooling quality.

  • Monitor process performance and recommend improvements.

  • Participate in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.

  • Mentor junior engineers and train production staff on new processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

  • 3-6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with valves, ECS components, or similar aerospace/industrial products.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and surface treatments.

  • Experience with quality systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
