Job Summary:

The Managing Director / Regional Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy execution, and operational performance of the company or business unit within a designated region. This role involves overseeing all departments, ensuring profitability, driving growth, and maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency and compliance. The Director also serves as the face of the organization in the region, representing its values and business interests to stakeholders, clients, and regulatory authorities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth and profitability within the region.

  • Lead and oversee all functional departments including operations, finance, sales, marketing, HR, and engineering.

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, corporate policies, and industry regulations.

  • Drive business development, client retention, and regional market expansion.

  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and reporting to headquarters or board.

  • Build and maintain high-level relationships with government agencies, partners, and key clients.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to strengthen regional leadership.

  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.

  • Foster a high-performance culture and promote operational excellence.

  • Represent the organization in strategic meetings, conferences, and industry forums.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or relevant discipline.

  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a regional or general management role.

  • Proven track record of driving business growth, operational success, and strategic leadership.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

  • Deep understanding of the industry sector relevant to the organization (e.g., construction, manufacturing, services).


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience working across multicultural and multi-location business environments.

  • Familiarity with corporate governance, regional economic dynamics, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to lead digital transformation, sustainability initiatives, or organizational change.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
