The Manager – Heating, Cooling & Refrigerant Systems leads the engineering team responsible for the design, development, and optimization of vehicle heating, cooling, and refrigerant systems. This role ensures system performance, reliability, and compliance with environmental regulations while meeting vehicle comfort and efficiency targets. The manager oversees all phases of product development, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and drives innovation in HVAC refrigerant technology and thermal management solutions across vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute design and development strategies for heating, cooling, and refrigerant systems in automotive applications.
Lead a multidisciplinary team in the creation of efficient and compliant HVAC refrigerant circuits and thermal management components.
Oversee system architecture, component selection, and integration to optimize performance, durability, and energy consumption.
Collaborate with vehicle engineering, powertrain, and supplier teams to ensure seamless system packaging and integration.
Manage product validation, testing, and durability programs to meet performance and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with refrigerant-related environmental regulations (e.g., F-Gas, SAE standards) and industry standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting refrigerant leak reduction, system efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate with suppliers and external partners for component sourcing and technology adoption.
Mentor and develop engineering team members, promoting technical growth and collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field required
Advanced degree preferred
Experience:
8+ years of experience in automotive heating, cooling, or refrigerant system engineering
Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and complex system development projects
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of HVAC refrigerant systems, heat pump technology, and thermal management
Familiarity with refrigerant environmental regulations and industry standards
Experience with system simulation, component testing, and durability analysis
