The Manager – Airflow & Ducting Design leads the engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing airflow and ducting systems within automotive HVAC and thermal management applications. This role ensures that air distribution meets vehicle comfort, efficiency, and performance targets while complying with packaging constraints and regulatory requirements. The manager oversees the execution of design projects, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and drives innovation in airflow solutions that enhance occupant comfort and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and implement design strategies for airflow and ducting systems across vehicle platforms.
Lead a team of engineers in developing efficient, low-noise, and durable ducting and airflow solutions.
Oversee CFD modeling, simulation, and validation activities to optimize airflow performance and pressure losses.
Collaborate with HVAC, thermal management, vehicle integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and system integration.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables for airflow and ducting design initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement in design processes, materials selection, and manufacturing methods.
Ensure compliance with noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) standards and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and external partners to source components and integrate new technologies.
Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting technical excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required
Advanced degree a plus
Experience:
8+ years of experience in airflow, ducting, or HVAC system design in automotive or related industries
Proven leadership managing engineering teams and delivering complex design projects
Technical Skills:
Expertise in airflow dynamics, ducting design, CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or similar)
Knowledge of HVAC systems, thermal management, and vehicle packaging constraints
Familiarity with NVH principles and automotive industry standards
