The Senior Maintenance Technician for Packaging Lines is a technical leader responsible for overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all packaging machinery including fillers, conveyors, case packers, labelers, and palletizers. This role leads complex repairs, drives reliability initiatives, mentors junior staff, and collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to optimize packaging operations and minimize downtime.
Lead diagnosis and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related faults on packaging line equipment.
Manage major breakdowns and coordinate rapid response to restore production uptime.
Analyze recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability and performance.
Develop and refine preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
Lead or support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new machinery installations.
Train, mentor, and guide junior and mid-level maintenance technicians in advanced troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
Enforce strict adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety protocols, and GMP/food safety standards.
Lead safety audits and risk assessments related to packaging equipment maintenance.
Ensure maintenance activities comply with all regulatory and company standards.
Work closely with production, quality, engineering, and reliability teams to prioritize maintenance work and support operational goals.
Provide technical expertise during packaging line changeovers, validations, and process improvements.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to report status, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

Technical diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
7–10+ years of experience maintaining packaging machinery in manufacturing or food & beverage industries
Proven expertise in complex mechanical, electrical, and control system troubleshooting and repairs
Advanced knowledge of packaging line equipment including fillers, conveyors, labeling, and palletizing systems
Proficient with PLC programming, HMI troubleshooting, and automation controls
Experience with CMMS, reliability tools, and maintenance management systems
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
