The Junior Maintenance Technician for Packaging Lines supports the maintenance and repair of packaging machinery including fillers, conveyors, case packers, labelers, and palletizers. Working under close supervision, this role assists with preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and breakdown repairs to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient packaging operations.
Assist with preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and inspections of packaging equipment.
Help replace worn or damaged parts like belts, bearings, seals, and sensors under supervision.
Support daily machine checks to ensure proper operation and report issues promptly.
Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on packaging lines.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in restoring production as quickly as possible.
Escalate complex problems to senior technicians or maintenance supervisors.
Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures strictly during maintenance work.
Support GMP and food safety practices by maintaining clean and sanitary work areas.
Comply with company safety policies and participate in safety training sessions.
Accurately document maintenance activities, parts used, and repair outcomes in the CMMS.
Communicate effectively with production operators, maintenance team members, and supervisors.
Participate in shift handovers and team meetings.

High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical training or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred
0–2 years experience in manufacturing maintenance, preferably with packaging equipment
Hands-on experience or internships/co-ops with mechanical or electrical maintenance a plus
Basic mechanical aptitude with understanding of conveyors, motors, belts, sensors, and electrical components
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in maintenance
Willingness to learn PLC basics and electrical troubleshooting
Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions
