The Maintenance Technician – Mechanical Systems (Mid-Level) is responsible for independently performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of mechanical equipment and systems in manufacturing or industrial facilities. This role ensures high equipment availability and operational reliability by executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities. The technician collaborates closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and HVAC units
Diagnose mechanical failures and execute repairs including component replacement, alignment, lubrication, and calibration
Support installation, commissioning, and modification of mechanical equipment
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement reliability improvements and maintenance best practices
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, minimizing production disruptions
Adhere to safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment
Mentor and train junior technicians or apprentices as required

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical diploma or certification in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, and valves
Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as vibration analyzers, thermal cameras, and alignment instruments
Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred
