The Senior Maintenance Technician leads the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex HVAC systems to ensure maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role involves advanced technical expertise, leadership in maintenance best practices, mentoring junior technicians, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams to optimize HVAC performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Lead and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, compressors, and control systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
Oversee replacement and upgrade of HVAC components to improve reliability and efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior and mid-level maintenance technicians.
Develop and implement best maintenance practices and standard operating procedures.
Lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety and environmental policies.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments within the HVAC maintenance function.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship among maintenance teams.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and compliance reports.
Communicate effectively with maintenance management, engineering, and operations teams on system status and maintenance plans.
Support budget planning and resource allocation for maintenance projects.
Leadership in advanced HVAC equipment maintenance and repair

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Technical certification or diploma in HVAC technology, mechanical maintenance, or related field preferred
7+ years of progressive experience in HVAC equipment maintenance and repair
Proven experience in leading technical teams and complex troubleshooting
Expert knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control systems
