Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor – Instrumentation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant instrumentation and control systems. This role ensures that all instrumentation equipment operates reliably, accurately, and safely to support continuous and efficient plant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the instrumentation maintenance team, including technicians and contractors.

  • Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for field instrumentation and control systems.

  • Ensure calibration, testing, and inspection of instruments (pressure, flow, temperature, level, analyzers, etc.) are performed as per schedule.

  • Diagnose faults and lead the troubleshooting of instrument and control system issues.

  • Maintain and update documentation, including calibration records, maintenance logs, and instrument loop drawings.

  • Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.

  • Enforce compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations during all maintenance work.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing upgrades or procedural improvements.

  • Liaise with operations, engineering, and procurement to support plant reliability and performance.

  • Provide training and technical guidance to junior instrumentation personnel.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering.

  • 6–10 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role.

  • Experience in continuous process industries such as oil & gas, power generation, water treatment, or petrochemicals.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in maintenance of field instruments (transmitters, valves, sensors, analyzers).

  • Understanding of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and loop control.

  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics.

  • Familiarity with international standards (ISA, IEC, NEC) and safety practices (LOTO, HAZOP, ATEX).


Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.

  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.


Preferred Certifications:

  • Calibration or instrumentation certification (ISA, OEM-specific)

  • Safety certifications (e.g., H2S, Confined Space Entry, Permit to Work)
