We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Machinist / Millwright to lead the mechanical maintenance and machining functions for critical plant equipment. This role involves diagnosing complex mechanical issues, overseeing precision machining tasks, executing critical alignments, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge, problem-solving capability, and a proactive approach to reliability and plant performance.
Oversee and perform installation, dismantling, and alignment of heavy industrial equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, turbines, compressors, conveyors, and motors.
Operate and supervise use of manual machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) for fabricating and modifying mechanical parts to tight tolerances.
Lead complex mechanical troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective maintenance activities for rotating and static equipment.
Conduct and validate precision alignments (laser/dial), leveling, and geometric tolerancing.
Interpret and develop mechanical drawings, tolerancing standards, and machine setup instructions.
Supervise critical maintenance projects and shutdown activities, ensuring timely and quality completion.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level millwrights and machinists on safe, precise, and efficient maintenance practices.
Implement and uphold mechanical maintenance best practices, working closely with reliability and engineering teams.
Ensure full compliance with plant safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and equipment isolation procedures.
Maintain accurate job records and update CMMS with work order details, repair histories, and improvement actions.
Leadership & Technical Oversight
Lead mechanical and machining work execution, oversee team safety and quality, and provide technical mentoring.
Advanced Troubleshooting & RCA
Perform diagnostics and provide permanent fixes for complex mechanical failures through structured analysis.
Precision Machining & Fabrication
Independently machine and modify components to tight tolerances, ensuring equipment functionality and reliability.
Equipment Reliability & Alignment
