We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mid-Level Machinist / Millwright to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and precision machining tasks for mechanical equipment in a plant or industrial facility. This role requires hands-on experience with rotating machinery, alignment, and machining tools, and supports both planned maintenance and breakdown response efforts.
Install, align, dismantle, and repair mechanical machinery including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, and motors.
Perform precision machining tasks such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Inspect mechanical components for wear, fatigue, and defects using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
Perform laser or dial alignment of rotating equipment shafts and couplings.
Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and blueprints.
Maintain workshop tools and ensure cleanliness and safety in the work area.
Collaborate with other maintenance and operations teams during equipment installation, repair, or modification.
Document work completed using CMMS and ensure proper handover of equipment status.
Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and lifting protocols.
Machining Precision
Operate machining tools with accuracy to fabricate, repair, or modify mechanical components as per tolerances.
Mechanical Installation & Maintenance
Execute mid-level mechanical work such as disassembly, alignment, and equipment reassembly across plant areas.
Preventive & Corrective Work
Perform scheduled maintenance and contribute to reducing unplanned equipment downtime.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Identify mechanical failures, determine root causes, and implement timely repairs.
Technical Interpretation & Communication
Read technical documents and effectively communicate issues and actions with supervisors and other departments.
Technical diploma or certification in Machinist, Millwright, Mechanical Fitter, or Industrial Maintenance.
3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or machining within an industrial plant or workshop environment.
Strong understanding of rotating equipment, shaft alignment techniques, and maintenance procedures.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Familiarity with machining tolerances, fits, and finishes.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
Competent in using CMMS for work order tracking and documentation.
Strong problem-solving, safety awareness, and communication skills.
Trade certification as a Machinist or Millwright (if applicable in your region)
Forklift or overhead crane license
Welding or basic fabrication experience
OSHA safety training or equivalent
Industrial plant or workshop setting involving physical labor, exposure to moving machinery, noise, oil, and varying temperatures.
Requires standing, climbing, lifting heavy components, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
May involve shift rotations, emergency callouts, and weekend maintenance activities.
