We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Junior Machinist / Millwright to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and components within plant facilities. This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with basic mechanical skills and a strong interest in industrial maintenance and machining work.
Assist with the installation, alignment, and dismantling of mechanical machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and motors.
Support machining operations including drilling, turning, milling, and grinding using manual machines under supervision.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, bolt tightening, seal replacement, and basic mechanical inspections.
Help maintain and organize mechanical tools, spare parts, and workshop areas.
Operate basic hand tools and portable power tools safely and correctly.
Follow instructions from senior machinists or millwrights to complete assigned tasks.
Document maintenance activities and report abnormal equipment conditions to supervisors.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
Equipment Support & Assembly
Assist with the setup, disassembly, and realignment of mechanical systems in line with supervisor guidance.
Machining Assistance
Support basic machining operations in the workshop; develop proficiency in precision cutting, drilling, and measuring.
Mechanical Maintenance Basics
Learn and apply preventive maintenance techniques such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments.
Tool & Workshop Handling
Practice safe handling and storage of mechanical tools and components to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Learning & Skill Development
Build technical knowledge and hands-on experience under the mentorship of senior technicians and machinists.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Maintenance, Fitting, or Machining preferred.
0–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance or workshop environments.
Basic knowledge of mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, couplings, and seals.
Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators is a plus.
Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions accurately.
Good physical condition and ability to work in an industrial environment.
Industrial plant or workshop setting with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, oil, and physical labor.
Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working in tight or elevated spaces.
May involve shift work, overtime, and weekend duties depending on operational needs.
