The Junior Machine Shop Supervisor supports day-to-day machining operations and assists in supervising shop-floor activities to ensure productivity, quality, and safety in CNC and conventional machining environments. This is a developmental role for individuals with foundational technical knowledge, preparing them for higher supervisory responsibilities through hands-on leadership and process understanding.
Shop Floor Coordination:
Assist in organizing daily work schedules for machine operators.
Monitor job progress and report delays, tool issues, or quality concerns.
Operator Support:
Help operators with basic setups, tool changes, and troubleshooting minor machine issues.
Ensure adherence to work instructions, job sheets, and safety norms.
Quality Monitoring:
Conduct basic dimensional inspections using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Flag non-conforming parts and escalate quality issues to the senior supervisor or QC team.
Tooling & Material Handling:
Ensure availability of raw material, fixtures, and tools at the machine.
Assist in maintaining tool inventory and notifying tool wear or breakage.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain production logbooks, machine usage sheets, and shift handover notes.
Track daily production output and downtime data under supervision.
Workplace Safety & 5S:
Promote clean and safe work practices on the shop floor.
Support routine 5S activities, machine cleaning, and housekeeping.

Punctuality, discipline, and ability to multitask in a production environment.
Education:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or Production Engineering
Experience:
1–3 years of experience as a CNC/Lathe/Milling operator or production technician
Exposure to machine shop practices and interest in transitioning into supervision
