The Mid-Level Machine Control Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining machine control systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. This role handles complex troubleshooting and works closely with cross-functional teams to optimize machine automation.
Develop, program, and test PLC and HMI applications for machine control systems.
Lead installation, commissioning, and validation of machine automation systems.
Diagnose and resolve complex control system faults to minimize production downtime.
Maintain and update control system documentation including wiring diagrams, software versions, and configuration details.
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to implement automation improvements.
Participate in continuous improvement projects and adopt new automation technologies.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
Control System Design & Programming:
Create and maintain robust PLC and HMI programs for machine automation.
Commissioning & Validation:
Lead setup and testing of machine control systems during installation and upgrades.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Handle advanced diagnostics and repairs of control system issues.
Documentation & Compliance:
Keep thorough and accurate records and ensure adherence to standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work across departments to enhance machine performance and automation.
Technical Leadership:
Mentor junior team members and support skill development.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
3-6 years of experience in machine control engineering or industrial automation.
Strong expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and industrial communication protocols.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex control system problems.
Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Good communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
