The Senior MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) Technician leads complex mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities on aerospace platforms. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, supervising repairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards, and mentoring junior technicians. The Senior Technician serves as a technical expert and key point of contact for mechanical system maintenance, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in MRO processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the disassembly, inspection, diagnosis, repair, and reassembly of advanced mechanical systems such as landing gear assemblies, actuators, hydraulic systems, brackets, and fasteners
Interpret and apply OEM Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Engineering Orders (EOs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and repair documentation with high precision and regulatory compliance (FAA, EASA, AS9110)
Perform and oversee complex functional, pressure, and operational testing of mechanical subsystems to verify serviceability and airworthiness
Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions or design feedback to engineering teams
Maintain detailed maintenance records and digital system entries (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, RAMCO), ensuring traceability and audit readiness
Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level MRO technicians, providing training and guidance on best practices and technical procedures
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to resolve maintenance issues, facilitate parts procurement, and implement process improvements
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve quality and safety standards
Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer standards
Manage tool calibration programs and oversee maintenance facility safety and organization

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or GED (required)
Completion of FAA Part 147 or equivalent aviation maintenance training (required)
Additional technical certifications or continuing education (preferred)
Certifications:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent certification highly preferred
Additional MRO or quality certifications (e.g., AS9110, Six Sigma) are a plus
Experience:
7–12+ years of aerospace mechanical maintenance experience, with a proven track record in MRO leadership roles
Extensive experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electromechanical, and structural system repairs in aerospace or defense industries
Technical Skills:
Expert knowledge of aerospace maintenance manuals, repair documentation, and compliance standards
Advanced proficiency with precision tools, inspection equipment, and functional testing devices
Skilled in digital maintenance management systems and data integrity best practices
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for complex mechanical failures
