The Junior MRO Technician – Mechanical Repairs and Overhaul is responsible for assisting in the inspection, disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components and systems within turbines, engines, or other industrial/marine equipment. Under supervision, the technician will follow established maintenance protocols and quality standards to support reliable operation and equipment longevity.
This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or trainees looking to develop hands-on experience in the mechanical maintenance field, particularly in regulated or precision-critical industries such as marine, aerospace, or power generation.
Assist in the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of mechanical systems and components, such as pumps, valves, actuators, gearboxes, or engines.
Support scheduled maintenance, breakdown repair, and component overhaul activities in line with work instructions and safety procedures.
Use basic hand tools, measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers), and documentation to perform routine tasks.
Document repair activities, component conditions, and parts usage using maintenance records or digital systems.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), engineering drawings, and repair manuals under technician or supervisor guidance.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and repair area.
Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Participate in tool calibration, parts inventory, and job preparation activities.
Work collaboratively with senior technicians, engineers, and quality inspectors.
Mechanical Component Repair
Hands-on tasks in dismantling, cleaning, and restoring components to functional condition.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Support both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities.
Technical Documentation & Reporting
Accurately record findings, work performed, and parts replaced.
Safety & Quality Compliance
Ensure all repair work meets workplace safety and mechanical quality standards.
Technical diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, Maintenance, or related field.
0–2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair, workshop maintenance, or similar roles (internships or apprenticeships preferred).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, repair techniques, and tools.
Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and service manuals.
Good attention to detail and willingness to follow precise instructions.
Strong safety awareness and a commitment to continuous learning.
Physically fit and able to work in workshop or field conditions.
Familiarity with turbine, engine, marine, or industrial equipment is a plus.
Exposure to CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or digital work order systems.
Interest in progressing toward senior technician or specialist roles in mechanical maintenance.
