The MES/SCADA Systems Integration Manager is responsible for leading the design, deployment, and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platforms. This role ensures seamless data flow between production operations and enterprise systems, enabling real-time decision-making, traceability, and compliance.
Lead architecture and deployment of MES and SCADA solutions across manufacturing plants.
Ensure seamless integration with PLC/DCS systems, ERP, LIMS, QMS, and other enterprise tools.
Develop standardized frameworks, templates, and communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.).
Align MES/SCADA capabilities with broader Industry 4.0, smart factory, and digital transformation initiatives.
Enable real-time production visibility, track-and-trace, and KPI dashboards across sites.
Develop strategies for batch execution, electronic batch records (EBR), recipe management, and downtime tracking.
Oversee software and hardware selection for MES and SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, AVEVA, GE Digital, Rockwell FT, Siemens, Wonderware).
Lead coordination with system integrators, IT/OT teams, automation vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ensure system scalability, cybersecurity, and long-term maintainability.
Ensure system compliance with GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 9001, and ISA-95/88 standards.
Implement role-based access control, audit trails, and system backups.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to apply patch management, secure network architecture, and threat detection.
Leverage MES/SCADA data to drive process optimization, yield improvements, and predictive maintenance.
Support initiatives such as OEE monitoring, downtime analysis, energy management, and traceability reporting.
Implement workflow automation, digital forms, and electronic logbooks to replace manual processes.
Manage a team of MES/SCADA engineers, system analysts, and support staff.
Develop training programs and technical documentation for users and support teams.
Foster collaboration between IT, automation, maintenance, and quality departments.
Strong expertise in MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FTPS, GE Proficy)
Deep understanding of SCADA systems, historian databases, and industrial communications
Knowledge of ISA-95/88, GMP compliance, and manufacturing process flows
Proficient in integration scripting (SQL, Python, JavaScript), database management, and HMI design
Excellent project management, cross-functional collaboration, and vendor negotiation skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Automation, Electrical, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering
8–12 years of experience in MES/SCADA implementation, with at least 3+ years in a managerial role
Experience in regulated industries (FDA, pharma, food) is a strong advantage
Certifications in ISA, MES platforms, or project management (PMP) preferred
