We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Lubrication Technician to lead and optimize lubrication strategies for rotating and critical plant equipment. This role involves managing lubrication schedules, conducting advanced condition monitoring, implementing contamination control programs, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and supporting the facility’s asset management goals.
Develop and manage comprehensive lubrication schedules for plant machinery using CMMS and OEM recommendations.
Perform complex lubrication tasks, including oil changes, grease application, oil flushing, and filtration for high-value or critical equipment.
Conduct and interpret oil sampling and analysis; identify wear trends, contamination, and degradation.
Implement and enforce best practices in contamination control, including the use of breathers, filtration systems, and clean storage techniques.
Maintain detailed and accurate lubrication records, analysis reports, and equipment history logs.
Work closely with reliability and maintenance teams on RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) related to lubrication-related failures.
Train and supervise junior lubrication personnel, promoting technical excellence and safety compliance.
Lead initiatives to optimize lubricant selection, application intervals, and storage conditions.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures, environmental standards, and ISO/ICML lubrication practices.
Collaborate with vendors or laboratories for oil testing and technical support.
Lubrication Program Management
Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the plant-wide lubrication program.
Condition-Based Monitoring
Utilize oil analysis, visual inspections, and operating data to support predictive maintenance strategies.
Contamination Control Leadership
Establish and maintain best-in-class lubrication cleanliness practices, including storage, dispensing, and handling.
Team Development & Training
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and mentor for lubrication team members and maintenance technicians.
Failure Prevention & RCA Participation
Provide technical insight during equipment failure analysis to eliminate recurring lubrication-related issues.
Technical diploma or certification in mechanical maintenance, lubrication, or industrial engineering.
5+ years of relevant experience in lubrication or rotating equipment maintenance in an industrial environment.
Deep understanding of lubricant types, viscosity grades, application methods, and equipment compatibility.
Skilled in oil analysis interpretation, lubricant selection, and reliability-driven maintenance strategies.
Proficient with CMMS platforms, lubrication route planning, and digital reporting.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, lead teams, and manage cross-functional tasks related to equipment care.
ICML MLT Level II or MLA Level II/III
Noria or STLE training/certification
OSHA safety training and Lockout/Tagout certification
Industrial plant setting with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment, lubricants, noise, and temperature variations.
Requires physical fitness for walking, climbing, crouching, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
May involve shift work, weekend duties, and emergency response based on plant priorities.
