The Director of Industrial IT and OT Integration leads the strategic convergence of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems to drive smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives. This role oversees the planning, execution, and governance of secure, scalable, and interoperable technology platforms that bridge enterprise IT systems with shop-floor automation and control technologies.
Develop and implement the enterprise strategy for IT/OT convergence across manufacturing and operations.
Lead cross-functional teams in integrating ERP, MES, SCADA, PLC, DCS, and IoT platforms.
Ensure interoperability, cybersecurity, and data flow integrity between IT (enterprise) and OT (plant-level) systems.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT departments to streamline processes and improve system performance.
Establish architecture standards, protocols, and governance models for industrial connectivity and control.
Oversee deployment of edge computing, data lakes, and cloud/IIoT platforms for real-time analytics and automation.
Drive continuous improvement using digital tools and predictive technologies.
Ensure compliance with industrial cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST, ISO 27001).
Manage vendor relationships, solution evaluations, and lifecycle planning for IT/OT assets.
Build talent capability through training, mentorship, and leadership in digital manufacturing.
IT/OT Architecture Integration:
Design and implement scalable frameworks to connect ERP, MES, and control systems (SCADA, PLCs) ensuring seamless data and command flow.
Industrial Cybersecurity:
Lead the development and enforcement of security strategies to protect critical OT systems from cyber threats, aligned with industry standards.
Data Infrastructure & Analytics:
Deploy data lakes, historians, and real-time analytics platforms to enable data-driven manufacturing decisions and predictive maintenance.
Smart Factory Enablement:
Drive adoption of Industry 4.0 solutions like IoT, AI/ML, and digital twins to optimize production, quality, and asset management.
Standardization & Governance:
Define integration protocols, data standards, and lifecycle governance for IT/OT systems across all sites.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as a bridge between operations, IT, engineering, and compliance teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.
Vendor and Solution Management:
Evaluate, select, and manage industrial IT and OT technology partners to ensure performance, scalability, and innovation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in IT/OT integration within manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Deep understanding of MES, SCADA, PLCs, ERP, industrial networks (OPC, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP), and cloud platforms.
Proven experience with industrial cybersecurity frameworks and compliance management.
Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus.
