The Junior Lifting / Rigging Helper assists the rigging and lifting team in handling, moving, and securing heavy equipment and materials on construction or industrial sites. This entry-level role involves supporting skilled riggers and ensuring safety protocols are followed during lifting operations.
Assist in setting up lifting gear and equipment under supervision.
Help attach slings, shackles, hooks, and chains to loads and lifting equipment.
Provide manual support in lifting, lowering, and guiding heavy items.
Follow safety guidelines and instructions from senior riggers and supervisors.
Ensure work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Inspect ropes, chains, and lifting tools before use and report defects.
Assist in signaling crane operators using hand signals or radios.
Wear and maintain proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Support in assembling and disassembling rigging gear as required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic understanding of rigging and lifting tools and procedures.
Physically fit and able to handle heavy materials and prolonged standing.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
Willingness to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
Safety-conscious attitude.
Basic safety training or rigging certifications (e.g., OSHA, LEEA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
Previous experience in a construction or industrial environment is a plus.
