This role requires advanced expertise in leak detection technologies, data analysis, field team leadership, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure timely identification and resolution of leaks, thereby minimizing water loss and maintaining system integrity.
Leadership & Program Management
Lead and coordinate comprehensive leak detection surveys across multiple valve zones and distribution areas.
Develop and implement strategies for proactive leak identification and risk-based inspection prioritization.
Mentor and supervise junior and mid-level leak detection technicians, providing training on equipment use, data interpretation, and safety procedures.
Advanced Leak Detection & Diagnostics
Utilize advanced acoustic, ultrasonic, correlator, and pressure monitoring equipment to detect and quantify leaks with high accuracy.
Analyze complex data sets from multiple detection tools and integrate with GIS and SCADA systems for spatial and operational context.
Diagnose underlying causes of valve-related leaks, including valve packing failures, seat degradation, actuator malfunctions, and pipeline joint leaks.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with valve maintenance, asset management, and engineering teams to prioritize repairs and capital improvements.
Prepare detailed reports summarizing leak detection findings, risk assessments, repair recommendations, and water loss estimates.
Support regulatory compliance and water loss reporting requirements.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
Ensure strict adherence to all safety standards including confined space entry, traffic management, and electrical safety.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for leak detection processes, including equipment upgrades and procedural enhancements.
Participate in audits and support investigations related to water loss and system reliability.
